SWOOSH TOURNAMENT RULES

This tournament is for the kids - let us always keep that in mind.

HOME AND AWAY

● The team listed on the LEFT or TOP of bracket is HOME and must wear light colors.
Normal High School rules will apply (FIBA) with a few modifications.
● Girls will use a size six ball, and boys will use a size seven ball. U11 uses a size six ball. Size six
28.5 is the same size ball. Boys U14 and Up use a size 7 ball.
● There will be 4 - 9-minute stop time quarters.
● One timeout in the first half, two timeouts in the second half, no carry-overs
● 5-minute half-times to keep the games running ON time
● 5-minute warm-ups between games. So do your stretching prior to warm-ups.
Bring your own basketballs for warm-ups. Swoosh will not provide basketballs for your
teams.

● There is only one 3-minute overtime. First to five points. If no one scores five points, whoever is
leading at the end of the 3 minutes wins the game.
● A player fouls out of the game on their fifth personal foul.
● A team shoots bonus on the fifth team foul in a quarter.
● Two technical fouls result in automatic ejection from the game and the next game as well. NO
EXCEPTIONS, THIS INCLUDES FIGHTS. This applies to coaches, players, and fans.
U13 and under specific rules
● U13 divisions and younger: there will be NO ZONE played at these age levels.
● You can man to man press/full court but not a zone press
● You can only double team once the dribble has begun
● No triple teaming at anytime
● You can play man to man no matter the score
● After a 25 point lead the clock will run
● This is a Club tournament so pick up at half is not required in any division, but is sportsmanlike
to do so

UNLESS DIRECTORS ARE THERE, THEY WILL NOT TURN OVER THIS RULE. So, judge
yourselves accordingly.

During the game if a team(s) is ahead by twenty five (25) or more points, the clock will STOP ONLY
FOR FOUL SHOTS AND TIME/OUTS. THE CLOCK WILL STOP AGAIN IF THE TEAM COMES

used by Swoosh for the tournaments. Please follow the no outdoor shoes rules if in place, especially
this time of year.
TNBA:
Shoes are to be taken off at the entrance and no fluids other than water on the courts. Not following
these rules could result in you not being allowed in the gym. The facility reserves the right to have your
team kicked out if too many parents and players ignore the rules.
Legacy:
Shoes are to be taken off at the entrance. Not following these rules will result in you not being allowed
in the gym. The facility reserves the right to have your team kicked out if too many parents and players
ignore the rules.
EYBA:
Outdoor shoes are to be removed when entering this facility. There are mats and shelves to place your
outdoor shoes on to keep them out of the way.

SAVILLE:
Shoes being removed is not a requirement here but would be a courtesy if they are wet or muddy and
set them aside before entering onto the gym floors. This facility does not allow you to bounce
basketballs in the main hallways and DO NOT just go onto an empty court. There are also other events
going on at this facility and they require the purchase of a wristband to use their other courts.

You are responsible for your players and yourself.
