Winter 2014 Newsletter

 

Hello all!

 

This past fall was a very successful one for Swoosh Canada.  Our Homeschool Academy is stronger than it has ever been.  Our Swoosh Sunday Academy and Whitecourt Academy were well-attended and full of hard-working athletes. Our website is up to over 3,100 hits.  We have recently traveled to Edson and St. Paul for two successful clinics and we are heading to Jasper, Whitecourt, and Onoway in the coming weeks.  We will also be heading back to Edson to run a session for the boys.  Our winter is full of academies, clinics, and getting ready for the summer and spring leagues.

 

Upcoming Events:

 

  • All Girls Clinic - The 3rd annual Swoosh All Girls Clinic is coming up on December 21st.  This year the clinic will be run by Canadian National Team Coach, Shawnee Harle.  There are a few spots left, so sign up today!

  • All Boys Clinic - Coach Don Phillips will be running this year's All Boys Clinic.  The Jr. High session is December 27th and the Highschool session is December 28th.  Interested?  Register here!

  • DMC Camp -  Swoosh has signed on the highest scorer in ACAC history: Dale-Marie Cumberbatch, to run a camp on December 22nd to teach athletes what it takes to work out and play like a pro.  Click here for more information.

  • Homeschool Academy Second Semester- After a short break during the holidays, the Swoosh Homeschool Academy will be back at the Saville Centre Tuesdays starting January 6th.  

  • Homeschool in Penhold - With the success of our Edmonton-based Homeschool Academy, we are attempting to start a similar program for the homeschool community in the Penhold/Red Deer area.  Interested or know someone who may be? Check out our website for more information. 

  • Jr. High Academy - We will be running an academy for Jr. High athletes on Sundays this winter.  It is a great opportunity for players to work hard to bring their game to the next level.  Click here to learn more.  

  • Summer Registration Meetings- Planning for our summer programs has already begun and all information is up on the site.  This year, there will be a meeting on January 11th for all returning athletes and a general meeting on January 25th.  If you plan to be a part of Swoosh this summer, please make an effort to attend.
